I am a planner. I like to plan months to years ahead and anticipate any road blocks that may arise. I am the person who has a 5 year plan and adamently sticks to it. Unfortunately, I find that the more I plan, the less I actually do. I attempt to wait for the perfect moment to take action and usually that moment never comes, because life happens.

As I sit here at work, currently on day three of a six day work week ending in a 24 hour shift this Saturday :(, I ponder the importance of being proactive and making the most out of the day. I have never really lived by the expression, “carpe diem” or “seize the day.” I think I have been to scared to see what would happen if I did not pre-plan and something went awry.

Today, I am making a conscious effort to “seize the day.” I challenge you to do the same! It may be as simple as going to a restaurant that you have been desiring to visit for a while but were waiting for a special occasion. Or it could be finally booking a flight to a dream destination. Whatever you have been putting off, consider taking the first step to achieving it today. You may just make this ordinary, mundane workday, extraordinary!
